The Greenland Trail Races is partnering with the Douglas Land Conservancy on May 4 at the Greenland Open Space Park in Douglas County. The race offers an 8 mile distance, a 25K, and a 50K ultramarathon, which is host to this year’s RRCA State Championship. Both runners and walkers are welcome.
“Last year we welcomed record crowds to event,” said Derek Griffiths, race director. “We had nearly 800 finishers at the trail running festival, which has filled for the past five years. Currently, registration is open for our ninth year.”
The Douglas Land Conservancy is a non-profit, accredited land trust dedicated to the protection of the natural character of our region and to the conservation of natural habit and open space. In partnership with land owners, civic and community leaders for the last 20 years, the Douglas Land Conservancy has permanently preserved over 12,000 acres of open space in Douglas, Elbert and Jefferson County.
The trail running festival is sponsored by the Boulder Running Company, LaSportiva, Hammer Nutrition, Road ID and Colorado Runner Magazine. Registration is now open online and in store registration is offered by Boulder Running Company.
